Testimony from Adia, member of Ancestral Elevation Coaching Program
You're here because you're TIRED of being the strong black woman BUT you desire to keep your power!Â

Feeling helpless as if Black women can't exist outside the strong black woman persona leaves you feeling UN-human, unsupported, and disrespected. And the only way to be seen, respected and supported is within a performative narrative popularized by systems rooted in whiteness.
Not feeling supported, being unseen and unheard doesn't mean your healing or liberation is impossible. It means you've realized your healing and liberation is vital and DEPENDS on structures outside of whiteness.
Cuz, the fact is everyone benefits from Black women being strong Black women EXCEPT Black women!
Not enough people understand the liberation practices found within ancestral wisdom and elemental practices, which allows you to root yourself in the power of your humanity with the support of your ancestors, the elements and a strong spiritual court. Â
- Ancestral wisdom is water to our bodies. Our ancestral practices is a deeper spiritual practice because dismantling the strong Black woman persona is ancestral work and healing.
- The land, wind, fire and water hold memory. Â Learning the wealth of elemental practices through a womanist (Black woman) lens will save us.
- Womanism saves everybody. In Black Women RE-imagined, we center a womanist ethic because it was created with Black women, first!

Testimony from Kyana Palmer, member of 44-Day Healing Cohort
''My experience with Dorothy’s House has been amazing. I came across Mama Cody’s page on TikTok and I’m so glad I did. Since joining Dorothy’s House, I’ve become more confident with trusting my intuition, I had a better understanding of the power of vulnerability and most of all, I’ve learned to make peace with decisions I’ve made. My healing journey has been long and often, I’m in my head about things that honestly, happened the way they happened. I made decisions in the past that weighed on me. The very first lesson was about making peace with decisions because essentially, it can impact the frequency that you operate in. It was simple, smooth and to the point. Quite profound. Since the very first lesson, I’ve applied this way of thinking in my life, and it has had a profound impact on a lot. I have less anxiety and guilt about certain things. Also, I have a very hectic work schedule, so, the option to be able to go back and review recorded sessions is so awesome! I’m so grateful for Dorothy’s House. It is a safe space to help you heal and have a deeper, better understanding of somethings on deep soul/spiritual level. If you join, you will not be disappointed. Infinite blessing!''

MEET OUR PRACITIONERS

IMANI ROUSE
FOUCS GROUP LEADER AND COORDINATORÂ
Hello! I am Imani Rouse. While I am a licensed master social worker (LMSW) & I have experience as a therapist, you all are meeting me in a very transformative time. During this transformation so far, I have discovered a passion for walking alongside black LGBTQ+ folks during their healing journeys. But instead of a social worker or therapist, please consider me to be more like a spirit detective. My goal is to help you with the reconnection of you to your heart & emotional body as well as investigate with you how & why you lost connection in the first place. My goal is to also aid in the transformations you are facing & integration of the lessons that come with them. No matter how long our journey working together lasts, I hope to leave you feeling empowered & more connected to your heart & emotional body. Thank you for trusting me! I look forward to working with you!

Testimony from Selena B, member of 44-Days Healing Cohort
''Mama Cody and Dorothyshouse helped me through one of the hardest times in my life. After the murder of my brother I was lost, angry, depressed and completely in survival mode. The sessions had with Mama Cody gave me something to look forward to each week. Helped me out the darkness and helped me to start to see a glimpse of my own power. Even as a reiki master, sound healer and overall spiritual woman, there were still so many gems shared and a lot of lessons and wisdom offered. If you are truly seeking growth or help in your journey I highly recommend working with Dorothys House.''

Love Letter to Black Women
It’s not about being strong or weak. It is about being human. Our humanity is the gift to ourselves. In our humanity is the expansion of our liberation. I recall Jade T. Perry saying, 'our body is earth, too.' From birth we've had the advantage to be in alignment with nature. Due to whiteness, conformity and capitalism, our bodies has been exploited instead next to nature. Our bodies sustain our humanity. Whether you join this program or not, what practices are you willing to embody that holds you accountable to the fact that your body sustains your humanity? That your divinity needs your humanity so you can thrive in dis here life? Allowing the persona of the strong black woman to consume your body, and  humanity will not get you there.
Sincerely,
Mama Cody
